This is just a workbook - you need someone with the teacher's guide and CD to actually go through the program. It is a beginner program to learn conversational German. This will get you started, but won't teach you technical German. You'll have to get that somewhere else.I'm going through a German - second language class that uses this guide. Overall, the program is pretty good. It starts out a little slow, but does speed up. Everything is in German, but they use plenty of pictures and audio tracks to ensure you are able to understand what they mean. Within a few lessons, you'll at least be able to greet your neighbors and figure out the prices of items at the supermarket.
I think the program could use a little more repetition - some words are used only once or twice. There could also be a little more examples for association for each word.
Still, this isn't a bad program for learning conversational German, especially if you are willing to put forth a little effort and take time to study.
